Dick Axilrod
Our beloved Dick Axilrod, one of the founding members of the Open Door Sangha back in the 1980s, passed away on March 16 of cancer. Dick was a member of the Sangha Board for many years and a regular participant in our weekly sitting groups, especially Monday night where he often shared his wisdom and understanding. He was deeply committed to the dharma and he often spoke about how his meditation practice gave him great comfort and ease. He and his wife Joyce opened their home, “Casa Arriba”, for many daylong retreats with visiting meditation teachers sponsored by the Sangha. We will sorely miss his humor, optimism, insight and kindness.
